The Student Wellbeing Service is celebrating its first anniversary! Our first year helping you to manage your wellbeing whilst navigating the demands of university life. And what a year it’s been!
In that time we have:
supported over 1600 students with 1-1 wellbeing sessions
delivered over 30 wellbeing webinars independently and in conjunction with International Student Support, SAMHS, Careers Service & PGR Researcher Wellbeing Week
launched our Wellbeing Wednesday sessions in collaboration with The Virtual Library Commons and our monthly Student Parent Group
helped new and returning students and student communities to engage and remain engaged with their wellbeing throughout this challenging year
created an online wellbeing community via our Student Wellbeing Blog and continued to promote the importance of wellbeing and self-care through our self-help resources, mindfulness sessions and guided relaxation
In addition to all of that, we have just been nominated for the Postgrad Awards Best PG Wellbeing Initiative award 2021!
We've received a lot of positive feedback from those of you who have made use of our support, here’s a snapshot of some of your comments:
“Really helpful and encouraging, I feel much more able to support myself through this time.”
“A very good service which was easy to book an appointment with, and comprised of advisors who really listen to what you want to talk about.”
“I am so happy that I was made aware of the wellbeing service and was able to access it. Just one session talking to someone about my worries took weight off my shoulders. I really felt listened to and I was offered some very helpful advice and resources that I would have not found myself.”
